A recent promotional listing for the refurbished Galaxy Buds4 Pro wireless earbuds established a notable pricing benchmark in the secondary personal audio market. Offered on eBay via DealNews, the Samsung earbud model SM-R640 fell to $144 with free shipping when buyers applied the promotional discount code ‘COUNTDOWN20’ at checkout. This price point represented a substantial discount compared to the product’s listed $250 comparison price, highlighting growing price competition across certified pre-owned consumer tech channels.
However, prospective buyers reviewing current market options should note that the promotional campaign and its associated coupon code expired on October 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM EDT. While the $144 transaction rate is no longer active, the offer provides valuable insight into secondary market valuations, warranty inclusions, and competitive feature positioning for Samsung’s flag-bearer audio equipment.

Hardware Features and Operating Capabilities
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro (SM-R640) model featured in the listing comes equipped with core hardware capabilities designed for multi-platform usage across modern mobile ecosystems.
Design and Connectivity
The earbuds feature an in-ear physical form factor finished in white. Connectivity is established via standard Bluetooth protocols, ensuring compatible wireless pairing across both Android and iOS mobile hardware platforms. This cross-platform compatibility enables audio playback and device connectivity regardless of whether the user operates within Samsung’s native software environment or Apple’s mobile hardware ecosystem.
Audio and Telephony Hardware
For audio management and voice communications, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro incorporates built-in active hardware features:
- Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): Integrated processing designed to diminish external ambient environmental sounds.
- Built-in Microphone System: Hardware dedicated to capturing voice input for cellular calls, voice messaging, and conference applications.
- Form Factor: In-ear design intended to assist passive seal isolation in addition to active signal cancellation.
Refurbishment Standards and Warranty Provisions
A central factor in the evaluation of secondary electronics is the condition rating and post-purchase support structure. The earbuds sold in this promotion were graded in ‘Excellent’ refurbished condition, indicating high cosmetic and functional standards prior to listing.
Allstate Warranty Protection
To mitigate risks commonly associated with refurbished hardware purchases, the listing included a one-year warranty provided through Allstate via eBay. This coverage structure offers consumers structured protection against hardware malfunctions or defects over a twelve-month operational period following the purchase date, bridging the gap between standard grey-market pre-owned sales and official retail protections.
Third-Party Claims and Market Positioning
DealNews made notable editorial claims regarding both the economic value and technical performance of the Galaxy Buds4 Pro during the promotion.
Pricing Benchmark Claim
DealNews claimed that the $144 final checkout price was the single best price seen for these specific earbuds in any condition. This positioning framed the deal as an unprecedented baseline for price-sensitive buyers monitoring premium earbud discounts.
Noise Cancellation Performance Attribution
On the performance side, DealNews claimed that the Active Noise Cancellation on the Galaxy Buds4 Pro comes close to the ambient noise isolation level of Apple AirPods. It is vital to note that this comparison represents a third-party editorial assessment rather than a standardized lab benchmark or manufacturer statement. Acoustic isolation efficacy varies based on physical fit, ear tip seal, and ambient sound frequency profiles.
Limitations and Buyer Considerations
While the $144 price point generated interest among deal monitor services, shoppers analyzing this market transaction should take several structural limitations into account.
Deal Expiration Status
The primary constraint facing prospective buyers is availability. The ‘COUNTDOWN20’ promotional coupon and the associated $144 pricing structure expired officially on October 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM EDT. As a result, the product cannot currently be acquired at this historical rate through the original deal link.
Third-Party Attribution and Assessment Context
Evaluations comparing the Galaxy Buds4 Pro’s Active Noise Cancellation to Apple’s AirPods isolation capabilities originate strictly from DealNews commentary. Buyers seeking independent verification should differentiate between retailer marketing assessments and formal acoustic lab measurements. Furthermore, while basic Bluetooth pairing functions across both Android and iOS devices, specific software management apps or customized feature toggles may differ depending on the connected host operating system.
