Maharashtra FDA To Crack Down On Edible Oil Violations; Repeated Oil Reuse May Invite Strict Action

Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Munde said edible oil will be the department's next focus under its statewide food-safety campaign. Last year, the FDA tested 1,247 samples, finding 77 sub-standard, 13 unsafe and 15 misbranded, he said. Authorities also seized 3,20,781 kg of stock worth around Rs 5.31 crore.
